Feeling under the weather? Try the rom-com remedy — three out of five Americans say it’s their favorite film genre when it comes to the count.

That’s according to a new survey of 2,000 millennial parents of children aged 4 to 12, who also watch action and adventure films (37%) and series like Harry Potter or The Hunger Games (36%). ) look at.

When an illness strikes, more than four in five (82%) spend most of their time in their bedroom, with 42% staying on the couch in their living room.

This can contribute to the average parent watching five hours of television or movies every sick day.

When parents are sick with their children, the most popular films are the Harry Potter series (32%) and the Toy Story series (32%).

Overall, respondents watched their feel-good film about 34 times.

This film has been respondents’ favorite for about six years, perhaps because it reminds them of good times (61%) and makes them laugh (53%).

Parents report feeling relaxed (54%), happy (48%) and calm (40%) after watching their favorite movie.

Almost two-thirds (63%) of parents agree they passed the love of their favorite movie on to their child.

The survey also looked at how respondents heal their ailments by taking care of their five senses.

To relieve their symptoms, parents tend to try soup (42%) and hot drinks like tea or coffee (26%).

They also want to touch things like their favorite blanket (40%), their significant other (19%) and their pet (14%).

When it comes to smell, respondents like to breathe something clean like fresh linens (42%), medication (36%), and something being cooked in the kitchen (26%).

And while trying to feel better, respondents enjoy listening to music (58%) and talking to friends and family (29%).

This random double opt-in survey by 2,000 millennial parents of children ages 4 to 12 was commissioned by Delsym in between October 6th and October 10, 2022. It was conducted by a market research company OnePollwhose team members are members of Market Research Society and have corporate membership in the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) and the European Society for Public Opinion and Market Research (ESOMAR).
