From November 24th to December 17th, the Doha Film Experience will be a multi-venue creative tribute to the nation hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. Program highlights include various activities at the Qatar Foundation’s D’reesha Performing Arts Festival 2022, outdoor performances at Heenat Salma Farm and M7’s Sky Theater, screenings at VOX Cinemas Doha Festival City and the multimedia exhibition Intaj im Sikkat Wadi Msheireb, Geekdom and Ajyal Melodieswith special screenings to celebrate Qatar MENASA Year of Culture 2022.
Held over four action-packed weeks, the Doha Film Experience is a rich cultural showcase that pays tribute to the nation hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and invites residents and visitors to an unprecedented showcase of cinema and fun entertainment activities all family members.
Celebrating the very best in local and international filmmaking, creativity and the arts, the Doha Film Experience is redefining the art of celebration with an extensive program of immersive screenings, a captivating multimedia exhibition, Qatar’s biggest pop culture event and a series of exciting live concerts.
The Doha Film Experience will be held at several key venues across the city including M7’s Sky Theater, Qatar Foundation’s Oxygen Park and the 2022 D’reesha Performing Arts Festival venues, Museum of Islamic Art, Heenat Salma Farm, Sikkat Wadi Msheireb and Vox Cinemas Doha Festival City.

M7’s Sky Theater and Qatar Foundation’s Oxygen Park are hosting a series of internationally acclaimed and award-winning short films by Qatar-based filmmakers from the well-loved DFI as part of the 2022 D’reesha Performing Arts Festival Made in Qatar Program. The D’reesha Performing Arts Festival hosts that too Cinema under the stars Program featuring critically acclaimed titles from around the world and a compelling short program from Palestine as part of Qatar-MENASA Cultural Year activities.
Celebrating the landmark Qatar-MENASA Year of Culture 2022, the immersive feature film series from the Doha Film Experience, Making the Iraqi New Wave takes place in the Museum of Islamic Art and is thought-provoking Baghdad: eye delight Exhibition. The films present a new context around Iraqi film history and the unique experiences that have shaped today’s common reality in Iraq; and a captivating selection of short and feature films from the latest and greatest voices in independent MENASA cinema.
Film lovers can enjoy a unique outdoor cinema experience at the pastoral Heenat Salma Farm, where a delightful program of classic, family and football-inspired films is shown. Indoor screenings of an irresistible list of contemporary short films take place at VOX Cinemas Doha Festival City.
Sikkat Wadi Msheireb hosts a fascinating multimedia exhibition, ‘intaj’, which traces the remarkable origins of Qatar’s film, television and theater movements and their influence on contemporary culture. Qatar’s biggest pop culture event, Geekdom, has moved its celebration of all things nerd to the center of the brain this year – Education City, Doha. The exciting live concert series Ajyal Melodies also returns and is part of the D’reesha Performing Arts Festival to round out a truly unforgettable program of creativity and culture this winter.
